Building momentum for CCS deployment in the CEE region – conference
6 September 2022 @ 09:00 - 15:00
Date: 09:00 – 15:00 CEST, 6th of September 2022
Place: Residence Palace Brussels, 155 Rue de la Loi, 1000 Brussels
The conference will also be livestreamed with consideration to those not able to attend in person.
About the event:
The purpose of the conference is to establish familiarity of regional (CEE) actors with the EU-level CCS policy initiatives, to introduce them to funding opportunities that could be used to facilitate and accelerate the deployment of CCS projects in the region, as well as to enable and encourage communication and cooperation among interested parties.
The conference will consist of panel discussions and presentations around four main topics:
- The role of CCS in achieving EU climate neutrality targets;
- EU funding opportunities for CCS projects;
- The role of CO2 transport and storage infrastructure;
- Emerging CCS projects in the CEE region.
The event is organised as part of the ongoing CCS4CEE project that Bellona Europa is engaged in as an expert partner. It will bring together CCS stakeholders from the CEE countries: industry representatives, representatives of relevant national ministries in the region, as well as civil society and academia. Alongside regional stakeholders Bellona Europa and the project consortium are thrilled to welcome high-level EU officials from the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Investment Bank as well as representatives of the Member States. We will also be showcasing pilot CCS projects emerging in the CEE region.
