Dr Shogenov is a researcher at the Department of Geology at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) and founder and CEO of the SHOGenergy consulting. Dr Shogenov’s expertise lies in the field of sedimentary geology, with a focus on CCUS in the Baltic States. He has been a member of over 20 research projects and has authored about 70 scientific publications. With a PhD in Petrophysical modelling of CO2 Geological Storage in the Baltic Countries, he has extensive knowledge in geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir and cap rock properties, geochemistry, mineralogy, diagenetic processes, CO2 geological and hydrogen energy storage, geothermal energy recovery and CO2 use, waste storage, and e-Learning technologies.
Dr Shogenov is one of the leading experts in CCUS technology in the Baltic States. He is currently developing a synergy concept for CCUS technologies that combine different types of underground energy recovery (such as geothermal) and storage (such as hydrogen, compressed air, synthetic methane storage, and pumped-hydro storage) with renewable energy sources (such as solar, wind, and sea current) in a single geological area. He is also working on retargeting the oil and gas industry towards green circular renewable economy projects.
SHOGenergy now is the main distributor of a new disruptive technology for remote diagnostics and sensing of the Earth (RDSE) with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
